Trier's Playoff Hopes Dwindling After Frankfurt Loss
Fußball-Regionalliga Südwest leaders Eintracht Trier suffered a setback in their promotion bid after losing 2-1 to FSV Frankfurt at the Stadion am Bruchweg on Saturday.
The result leaves Trier in third place, four points behind leaders FC Homburg, with just six games remaining in the season.
Trier started the match brightly and took the lead in the 12th minute through a fine strike from Kevin Correia.
However, Frankfurt hit back in the second half with two goals from Zlatko Janjic (55') and Serkan Firat (75').
Trier now face a tough task to qualify for the promotion playoffs, with their next match coming at home to TSV Steinbach on Saturday, April 22.
