McManus Accused of Sexual Assault
The Denver Broncos have released veteran kicker Brandon McManus after 9 seasons with the team. The move comes after two women accused McManus of sexually assaulting them while he was on a team flight to London last September.
Broncos' Statement
In a statement, the Broncos said that they were "aware of the allegations" against McManus and that they were "taking the matter very seriously." The team added that they had conducted an internal investigation and that they had decided to release McManus based on the findings of that investigation.
McManus' Denial
McManus has denied the allegations against him, calling them "false and malicious." He has not been charged with any crime, and no arrests have been made in the case.
Broncos Moving Forward
The Broncos will now move forward with rookie kicker Matt Prater as their starting kicker. Prater was signed by the Broncos earlier this offseason after spending the previous 10 seasons with the Detroit Lions.
